Short description
Meet Joel Goodson, an industrious, college-bound 17-year-old and a responsible, trustworthy son. However, when his parents go away and leave him home alone in the wealthy Chicago suburbs with the Porsche at his disposal he quickly decides he has been good for too long and it is time to enjoy himself. After an unfortunate incident with the Porsche Joel must raise some cash, in a risky way.

However, after that, he had to eat exclusively high-calorie foods so that he would look like a fresh-faced, round-cheeked teenager.
- Sean Penn made a cameo appearance, playing a passenger in a Porsche.
- Two different endings were filmed, which were tested on audience screenings during test screenings. Based on the results, the version that was ultimately included in the final cut of the film was chosen. Director Paul Brickman preferred a more pessimistic ending.
