Short description

In the middle of the Los Angeles ghetto, drugs, robberies and shootings dominate everyday life. During these times, Furious tries to raise his son Tre to be a decent person. Tre's friends, on the other hand, have little regard for the law and drag the entire neighborhood into a street war...

What's left behind the scenes

During a rehearsal of a scene in the house of the character played by Nia Long, Cuba Gooding Jr. (who played Trey) actually punched a hole in the wall. He was subsequently asked to sign his name on the wall next to the hole.
In reality, Reggie Green suffers from paralysis of the lower extremities. As with his character, this was the result of a firearm accident; Green was hit by a stray bullet when he was only six years old.
The film's director and screenwriter, John Singleton, made a cameo appearance in his film, playing the role of a mail carrier.
The opening and closing scenes of the film are direct references to Rob Reiner's movie 'Stand by Me' (1986).
