Short description
The Eternals are a team of ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. When an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows, they are forced to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, the Deviants.
What's left behind the scenes
- According to actor Kumail Nanjiani, director Chloé Zhao prefers practical filming to working with chroma key technology.
- To build muscle for filming, Kumail Nanjiani followed a strict diet and trained with Grant Roberts, a trainer and Mr. Canada titleholder. Nanjiani worked out five days a week for three months.
- In November 2019, the film's cast and crew were urgently evacuated from the Canary Islands after an unexploded German bomb was discovered near the filming location.
- Due to Lauren Ridloff's deafness, it was difficult for her to perform in scenes where her character (Makkari) interacts with characters created using digital technology, or in action scenes. Angelina Jolie (who played Thena) helped her, using a laser pointer.
- Lauren Ridloff's father trained the actors involved in the film in sign language.
- According to producer Kevin Feige, Gemma Chan was cast in the film at his insistence.
