Short description
Four present-day Russian men dig for Nazi memorabilia at a WWII battlefield. A wormhole lake sends them back to a battle in 1942 USSR.
What's left behind the scenes
- During filming, Ekaterina Klimova was six months pregnant, and all her stunts were performed by a Canadian double.
- For the filming of the movie, the Rossiya channel invited the renowned Canadian stunt and visual effects coordinator John Attard, known for his work on the films 'Gladiator' (2000), 'Black Hawk Down' (2001), and 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider' (2001).
- The film contains an allusion: the scene in which Danila Kozlovsky's character is brought before a German officer strongly resembles a scene from Mikhail Sholokhov's novel 'The Fate of a Man'.
- A significant portion of the military equipment used in the film is prop-based (which is clearly evident in the case of the tanks). The authentic equipment did not participate in the 'battles' and served only as background; after filming, it was moved to the set of Nikita Mikhalkov's film 'Burnt by the Sun 2: Citadel' (2010).
