Short description

After Homer accidentally pollutes the town's water supply, Springfield is encased in a gigantic dome by the EPA and the Simpsons are declared fugitives.

What's left behind the scenes

The episode where the crane ricochets Homer from the house to a rock, and Homer in turn screams “rock – tree, rock – tree!” is a reference to the Warner Bros. animated film “The Iron Giant” (1999). These two words are the first thing the Giant says, and the first thing Hogarth teaches him.
Cletus Spackler's phrase “I can’t, I just can’t!” – is from the film “One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest” (1975).
In Alaska, as Homer enters the house, various birds and animals also run in, and the soundtrack from Walt Disney's cartoon “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” (1937) plays.
