Short description
Although strangers Sara and Jonathan are both already in relationships, they realize they have genuine chemistry after a chance encounter – but part company soon after. Years later, they each yearn to reunite, despite being destined for the altar. But to give true love a chance, they have to find one another again.
What's left behind the scenes
- Kate Beckinsale and Molly Shannon refused stunt doubles and performed all their own stunts.
- A gap of 12-15 years was originally intended between Jonathan and Sarah's first and second meetings, so their characters were initially written as 20-year-olds. Subsequently, however, it was decided that neither Beckinsale nor Cusack could convincingly play twenty-year-olds. Additionally, it became clear that based on the filmed material, the audience would find it difficult to determine that the first meeting took place in the late 1980s. Some parts had to be cut and reedited, so only 7 years passed between the protagonists' first meeting and their reunion.
- Jonathan tells Sarah that he sees the constellation Cassiopeia in the freckles on her arm. In the 1985 film "Say Anything," John Cusack's character shows this constellation in the sky to the girl he loves.
- Just like their characters, who see each other for a very short time in the plot, John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale spent only a few days together on set.
