- Peter Moore (Matthew Maher), the designer of Air Jordan One, passed away on April 29, 2022, a month before filming began. He left Nike in 1987 and joined Adidas.
- Amazon originally planned to release the film exclusively on streaming, but it performed very well at preview screenings, and the company decided to release it theatrically.
- Matt Damon filmed with padding to make him appear heavier.
- To show faded colors at the beginning of the film (Matt Damon at the school team match), the footage was transferred to an old Beta video cassette (over 30 years old), and then the video was converted back to digital format.
- Michael Jordan did not directly participate in the making of the film, but Ben Affleck consulted with him. According to Affleck, Jordan had only two requests – that Viola Davis play his mother, and that his old friend Howard White be included in the film's plot.
