What's left behind the scenes
- When Michael Clarke Duncan (1957-2012) was cast in the film, he weighed 138 kg. He was asked to gain another 10 kg for the role. To achieve this, he lifted weights every day and ate everything in sight (meaning, without any restrictions).
- Some of the supporting characters contain clear references to the famous creators of the Daredevil comics. Throughout the film, the names of writers and artists such as Joe Quesada, Johnny Romita, Frank Miller, Brian Michael Bendis, and David Mack are visible or mentioned in passing. The character's creators were not overlooked either: Father Everett shares a surname with artist Bill Everett, and the client who pays with fish is named after writer Stan Lee.
- In the comics, Kingpin is white, but on screen, his image was embodied by African American Michael Clarke Duncan, who happened to have a similar physique. The studio decided to cast Duncan in the role after a series of unsuccessful auditions involving white wrestlers. In fact, when this character was first introduced into the storyline of the original comics, it was assumed that he would be African American, but this idea (to make him African American) was abandoned.
- Before filming this project, Colin Farrell had never ridden a motorcycle.
