What's left behind the scenes
- Director Kelly Reichardt was concerned that Michelle Williams was "too beautiful" for the role of Wendy. She asked Williams to go without makeup and not wash her hair for two weeks during filming.
- Michelle Williams slept in her car for several nights to get into character.
- Michelle Williams didn't shave her legs or clean her nails during filming. After filming was completed, Williams' friend, Busy Philipps, treated her to a manicure and pedicure.
