Short description
Private detective Philip Marlowe becomes embroiled in an investigation involving a wealthy Californian family after a beautiful blonde hires him to track down her former lover.
What's left behind the scenes
- Liam Neeson is the oldest actor to have played Marlowe. The character's creator, American writer Raymond Chandler (1888-1959), stated that Marlowe was between 35 and 40 years old.
- At the end of the film, a poster for a fictional movie called 'The Black-Eyed Blonde' can be seen on the wall in Claire's office (played by Diane Kruger). This is the title of John Banville's 2014 novel, which served as the literary source for the screenplay. Banville is credited as one of the screenwriters.
