- The role eventually played by Bill Paxton was initially offered to Dennis Quaid, but he had to decline due to commitments to other projects.
- Gina Carano underwent a six-week intensive training course, working with Aaron Cohen, a former member of the Israeli special forces. She spent three hours a day practicing stunts and another three hours a day in sessions with Cohen. Particularly difficult tactical training in surveillance and counter-surveillance lasted two weeks, during which Cohen and his team tracked the actress using a GPS transmitter installed in her car.
- According to Gina Carano, in the scene where she throws a vase at Michael Fassbender, she was supposed to miss, but she was worked up during filming and hit Fassbender right in the head.
