- In reality, Austin Butler and Elvis Presley (1935-1977) are very distant relatives. Presley's father, Vernon, and Butler's mother, Lori, shared common ancestors.
- While playing Elvis Presley, Austin Butler appeared on screen in a total of 90 different costumes.
- For the filming, Austin Butler's hair was dyed, and in some cases, he simply wore a dark chestnut or black wig, as he is actually a blond. Elvis Presley, who also wore his hair chestnut or black, was also naturally blond.
- The scene in which Elvis Presley slips a gun into his shoe before one of his Las Vegas performances is not a product of the screenwriters' imagination. Presley did indeed carry a weapon after he began receiving threats.
