Short description

- Matt Damon turned down the role of Jason Bourne because he did not want to star in a film without the involvement of Paul Greengrass (director of 'The Bourne Supremacy' and 'The Bourne Ultimatum'), so the screenwriters created a new protagonist.
- In the climactic chase in Manila, LARX #3 (Luis Ozawa Changchien) is driving a Manila Police patrol car – a Toyota Camry. The Camry is a fairly expensive car in the Philippines – the Manila police do not drive such cars.
- The film is based on the series of novels by Robert Ludlum about Jason Bourne (1980 – 1990).
- Before the film was seriously considered for production, director Paul Greengrass jokingly suggested naming the fourth Bourne film "Bourne Excess."
