A double amputee attempts to write a letter while her nurse gets in the way.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The American Film Institute contacted cinematographer Frederick Elmes to shoot some footage, as different types of black and white cameras were being tested. David Lynch asked Elmes to shoot a short film as part of the camera testing and wrote a suitable script overnight. As a result, there are two versions of this short film, each shot on its own camera.
