Short description
As a 13-year-old, fledgling writer Briony Tallis irrevocably changes the course of several lives when she accuses her older sister's lover of a crime he did not commit.

- To better recreate the atmosphere of wartime England, director Joe Wright spent considerable time watching many British films from the 1940s, including "Rebecca" (1940) and "Brief Encounter" (1945). The latter had the most noticeable impact on his work on the project.
