Short description
Liquidated after discovering a corporate conspiracy, mild-mannered graphic artist Patience Phillips washes up on an island, where she's resurrected and endowed with the prowess of a cat — and she's eager to use her new skills... as a vigilante. Before you can say "cat and mouse", handsome gumshoe Tom Lone is on her tail, fascinated by both of her personas.
What's left behind the scenes
- Test screenings revealed some shortcomings, as a result of which the crew had to urgently reshoot a couple of scenes just a month before the premiere.
- Warner Bros. producers originally intended for the film to be released in IMAX format; however, they felt that due to the numerous special effects in the movie, the release deadlines would inevitably be missed and decided not to risk it. The decision to cancel the IMAX release was announced on June 30, 2004. Additionally, one of the promotional titles, "Catwoman: An IMAX Experience," as well as a couple of pun-based slogans, had to be changed.
- Some flaws were identified during test screenings, forcing the film crew to urgently reshoot a couple of scenes just a month before the premiere.
- During the filming of a chase scene, part of the set collapsed on Halle Berry, and the actress had to be hospitalized. Fortunately, the injury was not serious, and she resumed work the next day.
