Short description
Five ordinary teens must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove — and the world — is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

- In previous installments of the franchise, Kimberly had a romantic relationship with Tommy, and Jason with Emily. In Dean Israelite's film, a romantic relationship exists between Jason and Kimberly.
- The film's premiere was initially scheduled for July 22, 2016, but Lionsgate moved the release date to January, and then to March 24, 2017.
- In the 'Power Rangers' series, each of the five rangers had their own personal weapon; in the film, only the Red Ranger has one. The creators wanted to introduce weapons for everyone, but had to abandon this idea due to the film's limited runtime.
- Bryan Cranston, who played Zordon, voiced the villains Twinman and Snizard in the television series 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' (1993-1994).
