Short description
A prequel set before the haunting of the Lambert family that reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity.
What's left behind the scenes
- Lee Whannell put young Stephanie Scott through all the circles of hell in particularly intense scenes. The preparation for the scenes where Quinn Brenner was subjected to supernatural forces was especially effective. Whannell locked the actress in a dark storage room and made her listen to ominous music in complete darkness for about half an hour. To discourage anyone from freeing her from this "captivity," a guard stood outside. Periodically, Lee would burst into the storage room to check if the actress had lowered the volume on her headphones.
