Short description
A Reno singer witnesses a mob murder and the cops stash her in a nunnery to protect her from the mob's hitmen. The mother superior does not trust her, and takes steps to limit her influence on the other nuns. Eventually the singer rescues the failing choir and begins helping with community projects, which gets her an interview on TV—and identification by the mob.

- Whoopi Goldberg asked Carrie Fisher (1956-2016) to rewrite her lines, which caused numerous disputes with Disney studio management.
- Many scenes were filmed in Reno, Nevada, and the actresses often remained in their habits after filming, causing mischief in casinos, bars, and strip clubs. Once, Kathy Najimy and Wendy McKenna ordered wine and french fries to their room, and when it arrived and someone knocked on the door, the actresses opened it in their monastic habits while a pornographic film was playing on the television.

She remains the only nun – a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and she and the other nuns watch the Academy Awards ceremony every year.
