Short description

- At the very end of the credits, the words 'Thank you, Jonathan Larson' appear. This may have been a reference to a screening of 'Rent' held after the death of screenwriter Jonathan Larson (1960-1996) exclusively for his family and friends in memory of him and his work. When the screening ended, the audience sat in silence for a long time until the quiet was broken by a young man's voice from the back of the theater shouting these words.
- According to Rosario Dawson, she had perfected all the complex choreography for the song 'Out Tonight' during her rehearsals, but during the actual screen test, she was so nervous that she could hardly move. The actress decided she had failed the audition and left in distress. However, she impressed director Chris Columbus so much that he caught up with her and gave her the role on the spot.
- The filming of the New Year's celebration actually turned into a real party for the film crew and cast.
