Short description
At Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, a beautician on her way to a new job in Mexico accidentally meets a cook who is on his way back from America. Labor strikes, bad weather, and pure luck cause the two of them to share a room overnight at the airport Hilton hotel. Will their initial mutual indifference and downright hostility turn into a one night stand or perhaps something more?

- Director and screenwriter Danielle Thompson originally wrote this script for Hollywood in the early 1990s, and the protagonist was American. She later reworked the script into this version together with her son, Christopher.
- During the preparation for filming, director and screenwriter Danielle Thompson told Juliette Binoche (who played Rosa) to study Shirley MacLaine's performance in Billy Wilder's drama 'The Apartment' (1960).
- Isabelle Adjani was initially considered for the role of Rosa, but the part eventually went to Juliette Binoche.
