Short description
School girl Annabel is hassled by her mother, and Mrs. Andrews is annoyed with her daughter, Annabel. They both think that the other has an easy life. On a normal Friday morning, both complain about each other and wish they could have the easy life of their daughter/mother for just one day and their wishes come true as a bit of magic puts Annabel in Mrs. Andrews' body and vice versa. They both have a Freaky Friday.
What's left behind the scenes
- During the filming of this movie, actress Jodie Foster received an offer from George Lucas to appear in «Star Wars» (this was a period when he was considering making Princess Leia younger, which is why he invited Foster). Lucas even approved Foster, but then everyone suddenly remembered that she had a filming contract with Disney. Foster considered breaking the contract to join Lucas, but her mother convinced her not to.
- Neither Jodie Foster nor Barbara Harris had ever water-skied. This scene was filmed in a studio against blue screens. Prior to this, Foster spent three days training in water skiing, but to no avail. Professional athletes were used for the wide shots.
- The braces worn by Foster's character in the film were specifically designed to cover the gap between her two upper teeth.
