Short description
A defrocked Episcopal clergyman leads a bus-load of middle-aged Baptist women on a tour of the Mexican coast and comes to terms with the failure haunting his life.
What's left behind the scenes
- To alleviate the oppressive atmosphere caused by filming in a remote location, director John Huston (1906-1987) gifted each of the leading actors with a gold-inlaid pistol and bullets engraved with the names of the other cast members. He said the idea was that when someone wanted to kill someone, they could use a 'personalized' bullet. Huston's plan worked, and the filming went smoothly.
