Short description

What's left behind the scenes
- Helen Mirren liked the script so much that she agreed to play June even though it violated her own rules (the actress had long since vowed not to play patients with cancer or dementia).
- Joe Enders wrote the screenplay at the age of 19 while attending specialized screenwriting courses in the UK. His instructors suggested he write about something personal, and he decided to tell the story of his grandmother, who died of ovarian cancer in 2017 when he was 13. This is how the script for 'Goodbye June' came to be.
- Kate Winslet helped produce the film and was signed on for the role of Julia, but when it came time to select a director for the project, she suddenly realized that she wanted to direct the film herself.
