Short description
During his 50th birthday party thrown by his wife, Remco's life takes a turn for the worse. His business partners are scheming behind his back to sell him and his former mistress shows up pregnant.

- Director Paul Verhoeven chose the title "Bamboozle" from 3,400 options suggested by the audience.
- The film was intended to be an experimental interactive project involving the audience, combining its production with a talent search project similar to American Idol. Aspiring screenwriters were given a short text, based on which they were to write a script and send it to Paul Verhoeven. The director received 35,000 script versions and rejected them all. In the end, the script was written by a professional screenwriter, and professional actors starred in the film, although the original plan was to involve newcomers to acting.
