Short description
When a Category 5 hurricane decimates a coastal town, the storm surge brings devastation, chaos and something far more frightening: hungry sharks.
What's left behind the scenes
- Indoor scenes, such as those in the characters' bedrooms, were filmed inside an indoor pool where specially constructed sets were lowered. Instead of trying to flood the set, production designer David Ingram built the sets so that a crane could be used to "remove" the lower levels of the building and consequently lower the sets into the water. This made the events on screen look more realistic.
- During filming in Melbourne, the filmmakers used real sets in some scenes, while in others, they employed computer graphics.
- A specially constructed pool in the studio parking lot held approximately 2 million liters of water. This is where the scenes on the central city square were filmed.
- When Dakota, played by Whitney Peak, returns home after rescuing Lisa, played by Phoebe Dynevor, she takes off her coat. The yellow long-sleeved sweater underneath is completely dry. In theory, it should have been soaked, as the character had been caught in a downpour and had even fallen into the water.
