Short description

A veteran high school teacher befriends a younger art teacher, who is having an affair with one of her 15-year-old students. However, her intentions with this new "friend" also go well beyond platonic friendship.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Nicholas Hoult auditioned for the role of Steven Connolly several times, but the role went to Andrew Simpson.
  • Location shooting took place in Parliament Hill Park, as well as in the London districts of Camden Town and Gospel Oak.
  • When the film's script landed in the hands of director Jason Reitman, he read it and immediately called the producers to ask if there was a chance he would be chosen to direct the film. He was told that the final cut was already in progress.
  • Juno Temple’s first role in cinema. When she first told her parents that she wanted to act in films, her mother tried to dissuade her and even sent her to auditions to show her how much competition there was, but she passed the audition successfully and was cast. The next time, she went to an audition for Joe Wright's war drama 'Atonement' (2007) on her own and landed the role again, after which she began acting regularly.
