CASTING CALL FOR DELHI PLAYS, writer-director Seema Rahmani!! Performances at Habitat Centre (July/August 2015) and Akshara Theatre (October 2015). Auditions May 29th, 30th, 31st and June 5th, 6th, 7th and by scheduled appointment. All characters need to be extremely comfortable speaking in English. We are looking for very strong actors who can work on psychological and emotional layers of a character.
Character breakdowns:
Feminine-MALE nurse (supporting role), age-look 35-45, an obvious but realistic femininity, responsible, a no-nonsense attitude, easily arcastic, yet genuinely caring when he chooses to be!!
Female nurse (supporting role), age-look minimum late 40-50, no-nonsense attitude, tough woman with a hidden soft interior!! (A very African-American charm and style of speech would work, but open to all ethnicities.)
Male, age-look mid to late 20s, news anchor with natural charm and fluency for satire TV news delivery like that of Jon Stewart of The Daily Show!! A very light-on-his-feet, handsome young man who can be straight-faced and ironic, and also transform to carry ease and joy in his energy like that of a young sportsman. A realistic NRI or western influence in communication style is a plus.
Male, age-look late 20s to mid-thirties, a complex individual who shows angst and intensity even when silent. At times naturally arrogant, at times extremely vulnerable and emotional. A VERY STRONG ACTOR who can free-flow emotionally required.
